Monday

Matthew: "Mommy...I need daddy".
Me: "I know you miss him. Why do you need him?"
Matthew: "I wanna go potty outside".

His shirt says it all...

Two comments:

1) I already know that he loves me more than anyone else, so I would most certainly not be so desperate as to dress him in that myself.

2)Could he look any more like Brandon? He can't deny this kid...even if he ends up with blonde hair.

Random

So much going on around here...yet none of it is all that exciting. Such is the life of a stay-home-mom with 2 kids under 3 years of age...

Matthew loves Lego's and Matchbox cars. If you can combine them...life gets even better.

Kyle just hangs out and acts cute. Although, he wasn't so cute for a couple of nights when he cried...and cried...and cried....for hours..and hours. We went to the doctor for his 6 month appointment and found out that he had a double ear infection. Poor guy. His most recent stats are 19 lbs and 12 oz. and I can't remember the length. He was 90% percentile in both categories. As my mom put it..."is anyone surprised?". Well put grandma.

Brandon and I went to the rodeo last week and I would love to post some pics, but Brandon wouldn't carry my camera for me and made me leave it in the car. So, I took this picture just to make him mad. This is Kyle's "you are so mean to make me eat peas" face.Brandon had a bike race last weekend and we all went to watch.

And the FINAL picture. Like I've said before...Matthew loves loves loves his daddy. So this just drives home that point...

A boy and his dog.

I had high hopes for this union. And I would love to tell you that they have a great relationship. But that would be a lie. Jack comes to this relationship with some "baggage". He was abused, abandoned and then adopted. He didn't really want siblings and given his knack for cuddling...he really hoped we would have girls. But instead, we have two boys and one, Matthew, would loves to play (read: torment) by chasing him with toys and sticks. Matthew doesn't really understand or care about Jack's emotional baggage. But they have one bond. The love of the trashmen. They share the window and watch the them. They watch for different reasons: Jack, to protect us...Matthew, in pure awe of the dollys that the trashmen ride to and from the truck. But for whatever the reason, they come together and put thier differences aside every Wednesday and Saturday. Maybe I can hope it will grow into something more...

Crying it out.

We are trying to get Kyle used to sleeping un-swaddled. While he is hating it now, he'll thank me when it's 95 degrees outside and he's not all bundled up while trying to take a nap. Because seriously, there is not enough A/C in this world to keep his room cool in the summer. So this was lunchtime. He couldn't even hold his own head up. My laughing, after taking this picture, woke him up briefly....and then he went right back to sleep.

He Loves Me.

Nope...I'm not talking about my husband, even though I think I'm at the top of his list. And I'm not talking about Matthew because he might love Brandon more these days. I could be talking about Jack, but he's a little fickle and really only loves the person that took him on a run that day. So that only leaves one other male in our house...I'm talking about Kyle. He loves me. And sometimes he loves only me. Sure, it might be because I'm his food source or because he is stuck looking at my face 99% of the time he's awake. But regardless, he loves me. Matthew would go to anyone and I loved that about him. It made life so easy for me. And maybe it's because Kyle is probably our last baby that I'm OK with being so needed by him. But oh...he's just perfect. He loves to snuggle into my chest when he is tired. In fact, he loves me sooo much that he can't sleep a whole night without seeing me. His one tooth smile is awesome.

Have I mentioned that 5-7 months is my favorite baby age? And to think that I didn't think I would ever like babies...

Howdy Y'all!

Go Texan Day! The hat was a little big...
