We started potty training yesterday. We took some of our friends advice and let Matthew run around in the backyard without a diaper in order to associate having to 'go' with actually 'going'. It has worked pretty well so far, although I'm afraid that Matthew likes the 'free' feeling of no diaper or underwear a little too much. Ugh...men.
Lots of Christmas pictures were taken....by everyone but myself. I'm going to have to get them from Nate so that I can post them. Nate brought his super-duper-expensive camera (which takes awesome pics) and then let Matthew play with it. Nate must have had a couple drinks before he thought that was a good idea :) But never fear, the camera made it through it's first 2 yr old experience and lived to see another day.

The grandparents had a little too much time on thier hands and made homemade gingerbread houses with all the grandkids. They actually made thier own gingerbread and cut it out into the right sized pieces etc. Exhaustive research was done into what kind of icing was needed to secure the gingerbread pieces together and heaven forbid....the recipe contained raw egg whites. And anyone who knows my mom knows that if there is a 1% chance that egg whites could hurt a child, that is waaaay too high of a probability. So she immediatly sprung into action and found some Wilton egg white substitute and the gingerbread house project was saved. Matthew thought is was pretty darn cool and I'm sure he will love it even more next year. This year, he would eat one piece of candy for every piece he placed on the house :)
The finished product.
And the most recent Matthew update....he tells me "yes sir" and "no sir". I keep suggesting "yes mam", but it doesn't see to stick.
Kyle is still resisting sleeping through the night. The kid is HUGE and has more than enough body fat to sustain him through the night. Apparently he disagrees. But he is my sweet baby and is so happy despite his incoming teeth and having to share me with his brother.
