On one of my daily trips to Kroger last week, I completed my shopping...paid...and then walked to the car. I loaded Kyle into the car and then unloaded my groceries. I pulled out of my spot and then realized that I didn't have my wallet. To make a long story short...my wallet was stolen, while loading up Kyle. It was so quick and I have a pretty small car, so the cart was always where I could see it. The thief took my cash...a whopping $5 and some change...and then dumped my wallet in a post office drop box. So, I got everything back, although I had already cancelled the credit cards.
I've heard of people getting thier wallets stolen while grocery shopping - because we leave our carts so often. I was lucky that my wallet was out of my purse, otherwise I might not have noticed it was missing until too late. Credit card charges would have been so much worse!!!
So be careful. And I really really hope that the man/woman needed that $5 more than I did. And I hope it went to feed a child. Living in a dream world is nice sometimes :)
